ISO/IEC JTC1/SC34/WG3:
Name and Terms of Reference

The name of SC34/WG3 shall be "Document Description and Processing Languages -- Information Association".

SC34/WG3 shall perform its activities within the following scope and terms of reference:

To produce architectures for information management and interchange based on ISO 8879 Standard Generalized Markup Language and related standards. These architectures shall include but not be limited to the following topics:

  1. locating information objects;
  2. expressing relationships among information objects;
  3. managing spacial- and time-based information;
  4. representing knowledge structures, indexes, etc.; and
  5. managing behavioral components of interactive documents.
