Canadians among recipients of prestigious international award

Mr. Bill Bryans and Dr. Marc Breton were awarded the International Electrotechnical Commission's 1906 Award for oustanding achievement in Canada and on the international stage.

Two Canadians were recently presented with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)'s prestigious 1906 Award. The award was established in commemoration of the IEC's year of foundation and honours technical experts from around the world whose work is fundamental to the IEC.

Bill Bryans, member of Canadian National Committee to IEC and Chair of the Canadian National Committee to the IECEE, has been noted for his major contribution in promoting the IECEE CB scheme in Canada and within IBM. Dr. Marc Breton, expert of IEC Technical Committee 86 Fibre Optics, has been recoginzed for his outstanding work in TC 86/WG 4 – Fibre Optic Test Equipment Calibration.
