Canada elected to IEC Standards Management Board

The SCC congratulates Ed Tymofichuck, chair of the Canadian National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (CNC/IEC), on being elected to represent Canada on IEC's Standards Management Board (SMB). The election took place during the IEC Annual General Meeting, which was held in Cape Town, South Africa from October 17 to 21, 2005. Also elected to the SMB were Korea and Spain. The SMB is responsible for overseeing the work of IEC's technical committee and helping to steer the priorities of the organization.
