Additional Canadians Honoured by IEC

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce that seven more Canadians have been presented with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)'s prestigious 1906 Award. The award was established in commemoration of the IEC's year of foundation and honours technical experts from around the world whose work is fundamental to the IEC. Congratulations to Dr. André Girard (IEC TC 86/SC 86B, Fibre Optic Interconnecting Devices and Passive Components), Mr. Roger Bergeron (IEC TC 77/SC 77A, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Low Frequency Phenomena), Mr. Henry C.W Leung (IEC TC 45/SC 45A, Safety of Machinery – Electrotechnical Aspects, Instrumentation and control of nuclear facilities), Mr. Donald Coulson (IEC TC 4, Hydraulic Turbines), Mr. John Turner (IEC TC 27, Industrial Electroheating Equipment), Pierre Riffon (IEC TC 17/SC 17A, High-voltage Switchgear and Controlgear) and, Mr. Michel Duval (IEC TC 10, Fluids for Electrotechnical Applications) for their invaluable contributions and ongoing dedication.
