Improved measurements for thermometers and sensors

Temperature is one of the most widely used measurements in a variety of industries. Improvements to an international standard (IEC 60751) on industrial platinum resistance thermometers and platinum temperature sensors takes into account rapidly evolving technologies in temperature measurement, as well as user needs.  The standard’s latest (second) edition, defines minimum requirements on the quality of these thermometers, which leads to different tolerance classes, and specifies the temperature/resistance relationship for both resistors (sensors) and thermometers.
