Survey shows ISO management systems standards implemented in 175 countries

According to the 2007 ISO Survey of Certifications, certification to ISO management systems standards is more widespread than ever before. The survey reveals that management system certificates were issued in 175 countries in 2007—up from 2006's number of 170 certificates. Of the management system standards certifications, ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certifications were the most popular worldwide, with at least 951,486 certificates issued; followed by environmental management (ISO 14001:2004) with at least 154,572 certificates and quality management for automotive suppliers (ISO/TS 16949:2002) with at least 35,198 certificates. At least 12,985 quality management for medical devices (ISO 13485:2003) certificates, and 7,732 information security management (ISO/IEC 27001:2005) certificates were also issued in 2007.
