OECD Praises Canada's Regulatory Reforms and Encourages Sustained Momentum

Canada is one of a number of OECD countries to have requested a broad review by the OECD of its regulatory practices and reforms. In their report, the OECD presents an overall picture, set within a macroeconomic context, of regulatory achievements and challenges including the quality of the public sector, competition policy and market openness. On page 54 of the backgrounder entitled "Government Capacity to Assure High Quality Regulation", the SCC's RegWatch is described as a promising start in increasing transparency and reducing duplication and inconsistency.
