Official launch of Standardization and la Francophonie initiative

The Réseau Normalisation et Francophonie (RNF), or Standardization and la Francophonie initiative, was officially launched on September 18, 2007 following its first plenary meeting in Geneva, which was held in conjunction with the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) 30th Annual General Meeting. A delegation of over 30 participants were on-hand to witness the signing of RNF's Charter by 14 countries and 4 francophone international organizations. RNF seeks to increase the availability and timeliness of French versions of ISO standards and provide opportunities for greater participation of francophone experts in standards development, particularly those representing the developing world.
