IEC president praises relations with ISO

According to IEC President, Canadian Jacques Régis, the working relationship his organization has with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is "robust and efficient.” Régis says the IEC and ISO have worked together closely and complementarily in such areas as energy efficiency and nanotechnology. He adds that they have risen to the challenge of managing some of the more controversial standards matters that have made headlines this year, and cooperated well in such areas as sales and commercial policy. Régis says it would be impossible for the IEC and ISO to work in isolation in today's market and with today's merging technologies.
