Cars that meet the Canadian anti-theft system standard (CAN/ULC-S338) less likely to be stolen

The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) reports that cars without IBC approved anti-theft systems are more likely to be targeted by thieves. It is encouraging automakers to implement the Canadian standard (CAN/ULC-S338) for automobile theft-deterrent systems, which was approved by the Standards Councii of Canada in 1998.
