Expression of Sympathy to the family of Dr. John Dunn

OTTAWA-The Standards Council of Canada (SCC), on behalf of its members and staff, extends its deepest sympathies to the family of Dr. John Dunn, who passed away Sunday, July 14th -doing what he loved best, gardening at his home in Sarnia, Ontario.

A long-time contributor to the Standards Council and the National Standards System (NSS), Dr. Dunn worked with great dedication for nearly 30 years to advance the cause of rubber standards both within ISO and in the North American context. He held the position of Chair of the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) on Rubber and Rubber Products (CAC/ISO TC 45) from 1973-2000 and never missed an international meeting of that committee. In March 2002, Dr. Dunn was recognized for his efforts and presented with the SCC's Leadership Award.

He is remembered fondly by his many friends and colleagues within the NSS as a leader, enthusiast and important contributor to standardization in Canada and internationally.

For those in the Sarnia area, visitation is at the McKenzie and Blundy Funeral Home on Christina Street from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 on Tuesday, July 16th. A service in celebration of Dr. Dunn's life will be held at St. Bartholomew's Church on Cathcart Blvd in Sarnia on Wednesday, July 17th at 2:00 p.m.
