![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2004-08-05 PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Accredited as a Quality Management Systems Registration BodyOTTAWA – The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) has granted accreditation to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PWC LLP), as a Quality Management Systems (QMS) registration body. This accreditation is granted in accordance with the provisions of:
“Accreditation of Quality Systems registration bodies by the Standards Council reflects an organization's dedication to the promotion of best practices and ensures it works to the highest standards possible,' states Pat Paladino, Director of Conformity Assessment at the SCC. The SCC is the Canadian member body of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has internationally recognized credentials. The SCC's accreditation program for Quality Systems verifies and formally recognizes a registration body's competence to conduct ISO 9000 registrations and provides assurance that it is capable of delivering services of a consistent quality. Given the Council's status as a signatory to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multi-lateral arrangement, ISO 9000 registration certificates issued by SCC-accredited registration bodies are recognized internationally. The Standards Council of Canada is a Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective voluntary standardization, and is Canada's representative at ISO and the IAF.
