Call for Nominations: 2006 SCC Awards

OTTAWA - The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for its 2006 Awards. The SCC seeks to recognize individuals, committees and/or organizations who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment through their invaluable contributions to standards-related activities.

Submissions are currently being considered in the following categories:

• Corporate Commitment Award
• SCC Award of Excellence
• McMahon Dedicated Service Award
• SCC Distinguished Service Award
• SCC Leadership Award
• SCC Special Achievement Award
• The Jean P. Carrière Award
• The Roy A. Philips Award

Information detailing each of these awards, the nomination process, eligibility criteria and past recipients, is available on the SCC website at:

Nominations are due by February 17, 2006.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Standards Council of Canada, a Crown corporation that promotes efficient and effective voluntary standardization in Canada, oversees the National Standards System (NSS) in which some 15,000 individuals take part. These participants, and the organizations that support their work in standards development and advisory committees, are of vital importance to the NSS.
