"The addition of Dr. Frank to SCC will further complement the broad spectrum of sectors already represented on the Council," said Minister Bernier. "His exceptional background in economics will be a welcome addition to the Council as it continues to develop and promote Canada's economic competitiveness and social well-being in standardization-related matters." Dr. Frank is the former Chief Economist and Vice-President of The Conference Board of Canada. He is the author of several publications on economics and finance, and has served on a number of boards and councils, including Alterna Savings / Alterna Bank and the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute where he continues to be a member. Dr. Frank has also served as a consultant to The Conference Board of Canada and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada. Dr. Frank received his Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Calgary. He earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics from Queen's University, and attended the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. The Standards Council of Canada is a Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective standardization in Canada.
