In memory of Sylvia Bienvenu

OTTAWA - It is with great sorrow and regret that the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) announces the tragic loss of esteemed colleague, Sylvia Bienvenu, Administrative Officer for the SCC’s Management Systems accreditation program.  Having fought a fierce battle with cancer, Sylvia passed away on March 12, 2008, at 48 years of age.

Sylvia joined the Conformity Assessment branch of the SCC in 2001. During her career with the organization, she performed her duties with integrity and professionalism; Sylvia demonstrated exceptional customer service and dedication to SCC, combined with a genuine desire to effect improvements to the accreditation process.

Friends may pay respects at a funeral to be held Saturday, March 15th at St. Joseph Parish (2757 St. Joseph Blvd.) at 1 p.m.

Sylvia was greatly respected at the SCC by staff, stakeholders and clients of the organization. She will be sadly missed by all her many colleagues and friends.
