![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2009-06-22 Standards Council of Canada's Greenhouse Gas Accreditation Program Complements Canada's Offset System for Greenhouse GasesJune 22, 2009, Ottawa, ON – The Standards Council of Canada (SCC)’s Greenhouse Gas Accreditation Program (GHGAP) – developed in partnership with Environment Canada (EC), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Environmental Careers Organization (ECO Canada) – complements Canada’s “Offset System for Greenhouse Gases: Guide for Verification Bodies” that was recently published in the Canada Gazette for a 60-day comment period. The overall aim of greenhouse gas (GHG) verification activities is to provide confidence that GHG assertions are accurate That is what SCC’s GHGAP program delivers through enhanced assessment of the competency of organizations conducting verification activities of GHG emission reduction projects.
