Raymond Appointed to the Standards Council of CanadaThe Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), today announced the appointment of Mr. Richard A. Raymond as a new member of the Council for a three-year term. “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Raymond as a new member of the SCC,” said Minister Clement. “His professional experience will contribute to the continued success of the Council as it undertakes new and varied challenges.” Mr. Raymond has held several senior positions in municipal, provincial and national industry associations. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the Canadian Construction Association, the Reinforcing Steel Institute of Ontario, the Ottawa Construction Association, and Ottawa Crime Stoppers. Mr. Raymond was President and CEO of steel fabrication and product distribution companies for over thirty years. He was also the President and CEO of Raymond Rebar Inc from 1968 to 1999 and was the Chairman and CEO of the Hausman Corp. (USA) Raymond Hausman Group from 1993 to 1999. The Standards Council of Canada is a Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective standardization in Canada.
