![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2009-05-13 Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Canadian Consultation on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)'s Strategic Plan 2011-2015The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a world wide federation of national standards bodies which promotes the development of standardization and related activities. ISO is guided by a five year Strategic Plan that is renewed for each new five-year period by ISO members. Preparation for ISO’s Strategic Plan 2011-2015 has begun. The Standards Council of Canada is seeking public input on ten broad standardization themes to help develop Canada's national position which will help shape ISO's strategic plan for 2011-2015. The 10 key areas where views and contributions are sought include the following:
The SCC would like to invite you to participate by responding to the ISO strategic plan questionnaire. The deadline for input is June 30, 2009. The Standards Council of Canada is a federal Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective standardization in Canada with the goal of enhancing Canada’s economic competitiveness and social well-being. SCC is Canada’s representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is responsible for coordinating Canadian participation in the development of international standards.
