Title Topic Map Constraint Language

Scope Mechanisms for expressing constraints on classes of topic maps conforming to ISO/IEC 13250:2000

Purpose and justification

To enable the documentation of the structure and semantics of a class of topic maps.
To provide a foundation for defining vertical or domain specific applications of topic maps.
To provide means of validation to ensure consistency within a topic map or across a class of topic maps.
To enable applications to provide easier and more intuitive user interfaces for creating and maintaining topic maps.
To enable the separation of the tasks of modeling and populating topic maps.
