A. Thailand (WG2 N177, DocSII N56) [1] Character-cell 1. Comment for ISO/IEC TR 19758, Page 4 The number of characters in a line is implicitly used to measure or determine the width of the line. In some languages (e.g. Thai), the exact number of characters in each line cannot be used to determine the width of the line because there are two types of spacing and non-spacing characters. Thus, we would recommend to use the concept of the number of character-cells, rather than the number of characters. Therefore, add a new definition and its note about the "character-cell" as the clause 3.34: 3.34 character-cell a basic unit to indicate the character width, consisting of one spacing character as a based character with/without non-spacing characters NOTE A non-spacing character is allocated above or below a spacing character. 2. Comment for ISO/IEC TR 19758, Page 5, Clause 4.4 Add the following note after the last paragraph of 4.4: NOTE In some language (e.g. Thai) documents, the exact number of characters on a line cannot be used to determine the line width. In this case, use the number of character cells on a line instead. ******************[disposition]****************************** The similar comment had been provided by UK in the DTR ballot of TR 19758. It was disposed (see WG2 N101)as shown below: Accept in principle. Several clauses are amended to support proportional pitch compositions. More sophisticated compositions will be dealt with in the next Technical Report to be submitted and balloted. ************************************************************* [2] Size of text character 3. Comment for ISO/IEC TR 19758/DAM2, Page 5, Clause 4.5.2 Add the following paragraph after the note (paragraph 2): The font size in some languages may differ from those specified in the tables. In this case, the appropriate font size with an equivalent look and feel should be defined as a ratio to the specified value in the table. ******************[disposition]****************************** Accept in principle. Comment for ISO/IEC TR 19758, Page 24 Add the definition about the highlight as the clause 4.29: 4.29 Highlighting Headers can be emphasized by specifying the text color and the background color. ******************[disposition]****************************** Reject. This style functionality can easily be specified by the existing DSSSL. There is no need to define a library for this requirement. ************************************************************* [5] Page numbers of language alphabets 6. Comment for ISO/IEC TR 19758, Page 8, Clause 4.9 In some documents, the page numbers may be written in their own language alphabets. Moreover, the language dependent numerals as well as alphabets can be used in some documents. The list items should be changed to: a) at the front side on the top edge, using numerals or alphabets b) at the front side on the bottom edge, using numerals or alphabets ******************[disposition]****************************** For further study. The library for this style specification can be feasible. However the implementation could be more difficult than that of ordering characters of alphabets in ordered lists. ************************************************************* B. Myanmar (WG2 N178, DocSII N58) [1] DAM1 1. 1okuri has not defined previously but used in the Initial value declaration of line-spacing. 1okuri might be okuri. 2. "okuri" and "*gyosu*" would better use more descriptive name to understand for the readers of the Specification. 3. *guttert-margin* Should be *gutter-margin* Shown in Figure 1. ******************[disposition]****************************** Accept. ************************************************************* [2] DAM2 In the clause 4.25, we have no comments other than to correct the following spelling error. Mongolia (WG2 N179, DocSII N59) [1] DAM1 In clause 4.4.1 (Graphical method using the Unwin module concept) of DAM 1, the list of the procedures should be as follows: a) Draw the diagonal line from the top-right edge of the left page to the bottom-left edge. b) Specify S point on the diagonal drawn on procedure 1. c) �c Because, if we first specify S point then it might not be on the diagonal. In clause 4.18.4 (Table header column and row), add the following notes: NOTE: A table may have only the header column or the header row. NOTE: The table header column and row may be defined to contain data of type different from regular table cells. In clause 4.18.5.1 (Diagonal line through table), add the following note: NOTE: Diagonal cells of a table, marked with the diagonal line, are initially filled with light-gray color as background.
