To produce standards for languages and resources for the description and processing of compound and hypermedia documents, including:
The Amd.1 specifies a revised typeface design grouping scheme to provide values for the mandatory DESIGNGROUP property defined by ISO/IEC 9541-1.
The Amd.1 was published in Jan. 2001
The Amd.2 specifies additional properties of the Font Resource defined by ISO/IEC 9541-1. The properties make it possible to address advances in font technology and in the increasing complexity of document processing. The properties of this Amd.2 are optional and in addition to those defined in ISO/IEC 9541-1, with the interchange format defined in Amd.1 to ISO/IEC 9541-2.
The Amd.2 was published in Feb. 1998.
The Amd.3 specifies additional generalized properties for the Font Resources defined by ISO/IEC 9541-1. The properties support interlinear/intercharacter font objects required for multilingual documents, particularly including East Asian language descriptions. The Ruby specified in ISO/IEC 9541-1 can be dealt with as a simplified instance of the interlinear objects as shown in Annex C of the Amd.3.
The properties of this Amd.3 are optional and in addition to those defined in ISO/IEC 9541-1, with the interchange format defined in Amd.1 to ISO/IEC 9541-2.
The Amd.3 was published in Dec. 2000.
The Amd.1 specifies an additional interchange format and slight modification to ISO/IEC 9541-2. The specification is applied only when additional font properties defined by Amd.2 and/or Amd.3 to ISO/IEC 9541-1 are employed. The properties are optional and make it possible to address advances in font technology in addition to those defined in ISO/IEC 9541-1.
The additional interchange format is described by SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language) conforming to ISO 8879:1986 and its Technical Corrigendum 2 (Annex K: Web SGML Adaptations).
The Amd.1 was published in Dec. 2000.
The Technical Report (TR) defines the Abstract Font Service Interface (AFSI), which specifies the abstract interface between a font service user and a font service entity. It includes an AFSI C language binding in its annex.
The TR was published in March 2001.
The Technical Corrigendum (Cor) 1 corrects registration forms in order to make online registration feasible.
The proposed Cor.1 was circulated for ballot within SC34 and approved in Oct. 2000 (SC34 N174).
JTC1 approved in Nov. 2000 (JTC1 N6340) the transfer of responsibility from AFII to GLOCOM of the registration authority for ISO/IEC 10036.
The Cor.1 corrects some obvious errors on Definitions, Notation and Conventions, Expression Language, and Style Language in ISO/IEC 10179.
The proposed Cor.1 was circulated for ballot within SC34 and approved in Oct. 2000 (SC34 N175).
A working draft (SC34 N189, Dec. 2000) for the Amd.1 to DSSSL is circulated for comments.
The periodic review of SPDL (SC34 N197, Feb. 2001) confirmed the ISO/IEC 10180.
The proposed Cor.1 (SC34 N187, Dec. 2000) to SPDL is circulated for TC ballot. It corrects some errors on Definitions, Resource Definitions, Fonts, Document Production Instructions, Medium Document Production Instruction, Presentation Document Production Instructions, Flow of Control, Procedure, and State Operators, Base Indexed Font Specification Dictionaries, Font and Character Text Operation, Geometric Graphics Operators, etc.
