The January issue of ISO Focus entitled: "Standards development: The inside story" includes "The challenges facing a new chair" by Canadian Elizabeth Nielsen, Chair of the international project committee ISO/PC 243, Consumer Product Safety and valued contributor to the work of the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).  A brief article on "Tackling consumer products risks" highlights the first meeting of ISO/PC 243 that took place in Toronto, Canada.  In addition, Canadian Kevin McKinley, ISO Deputy Secretary-General is featured as a panelist taking part in a conference on road safety that was held in Moscow, Russia in November 2009.
