The ISO/IEC JTC1/SC34 Meeting will be held at the following venue:

This meeting will be before the GCA conference, "XML Europe '99" (http://www.gca.org/conf/euro99/index.htm).

Hotel and travel information is enclosed. Please make hotel reservations as soon as possible.

SC 34 National Bodies and Liaison Organizations are instructed to provide the SC 34 Secretariat with the names of all delegates attending the plenary by 19 March 1999.

In accordance with the eight-weeks rule, all National Body and Liaison
Organization contributions to the Plenary must be received by the SC 34
Secretariat no later than 1 March 1999. Please note that the SC 34 Secretariat will require any National Body or Liaison Organization that submits contributions after this date to bring sufficient copies to the meeting site.

Also, please note that all additions to the agenda should be requested prior to the meetings in order to ensure that all documentation can be provided to the delegates upon their arrival at the meetings.

Closing Plenary:

SC 34 Working Groups will meet from Tuesday afternoon, 20 April through Thursday, 22 April. Working Group Draft Agendas will be circulated upon the close of the Call for Officers (SC 34 N 28) on 2 March 1999.

NOTE: WG Conveners should have documents which will be needed for the closing plenary ready for duplication at noon on Thursday and should be ready to indicate to the full working group at that time what items will be presented for decision (recommendations, liaison statements).

A block of sleeping rooms have been reserved for the ISO SC 34 Meeting attendees at the Hotel San Anton. The approximate hotel room rates are $93.00 for a single room and $121 for a double room, including breakfast. The hotel is only a two minute walk from the convention center. Other hotels will be available so feel free to reserve a room at an alternate hotel.

The conference housing form will be available on the GCA Web site on Friday, January 29th. Please download, complete and fax the form to the GCA Housing Bureau. Remember to include that you are associated with the "ISO SC 34Meeting".

Parking:

The hotel has parking available.

Shuttle service:

The airport is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel and taxis are available. Airport transfer information will be circulated as soon as it becomes available.
