Mr. T. Duncan Ellison
As the Executive Director of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association since 1994, Duncan Ellison has been working on maintaining clean drinking water for nearly a decade and a half. He’s also translated his professional experience into helping to create three new international standards that will help Canada and countries all over the world establish systems that will keep water safe for drinking well into the future.
As chair of the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) to the ISO technical committee responsible for quality criteria of the service and performance indicators of service activities relating to drinking water supply systems and wastewater systems (CAC/ISO/TC 224), Mr. Ellison has ensured Canada’s interests and concerns were represented in the development of international water quality standards.
In addition to heading the advisory committee, Mr. Ellison has also served as the convenor for the technical committee’s working group on drinking water since 2002.
He is a working group expert on three other working groups, and has helped edit the English working drafts for the Secretary of ISO TC 224.
His leadership of the CAC and his own input into water-related standards development activities have made him an ideal candidate for the SCC Leadership Award.
