Web Content Display Canadian Standards Strategy (2003-2005)The original Canadian Standards Strategy ( 933 Kb) was commissioned by the Minister of Industry, and developed by a stakeholders advisory council, including representatives from industry; federal, provincial and territorial governments; non-governmental organizations; standards and conformity assessment bodies; and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). The development process involved extensive public consultation, through the distribution of the Foundation Document for the Standards Council of Canada Stakeholders Advisory Council (), an issues paper entitled Towards a Canadian Standards Strategy (), and drafts of the strategy. Since its official launch in March 2000, the Strategy has been the guiding framework for the work of the Standards Council of Canada and the National Standards System. The issue of CONSENSUS () published in March 2002 outlines the objectives that were achieved in the Strategy's first two years of implementation. |
