Fasteners

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) offers accreditation for laboratories that conduct testing of fasteners, including those fasteners covered by the latest US Fastener Quality Act. The SCC has affirmed to the National Institute of Standards and Technology that it meets the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 58 (Ground Criteria for the operation and mutual recognition of laboratory accreditation systems).

Laboratories seeking accreditation under this program must first arrange for the implementation of contractual obligations with Collaborative Testing Services in Virginia, USA, as prescribed by the US Fastener Quality Act. Applicant and accredited laboratories must demonstrate successful participation in proficiency testing activities in whichever of the following areas appear on their scope of testing:

• Axial tensile
• Wedge tensile
• Rockwell Hardness
• Chemical analysis
